Privacy policy
Privacy policy.
This privacy policy explains how Uranus, The Hemorrhoid Academy App, handles personal information collected through this website, the waitlist, and pre-launch communications.
Last updated: 23 May 2026
This policy is written for the marketing website and waitlist. The full app privacy policy will be expanded before the Uranus app launches, especially if the app collects health-related check-ins, symptom notes, account data, or progress tracking information.
Who we are
Uranus is a private, discreet, education-led haemorrhoid support app in development. References to “Uranus”, “we”, “us”, or “our” mean the operator of the Uranus website and waitlist.
For privacy questions, contact hello@uranus.app. When a final operating company, registered address, or data protection representative is confirmed, this page should be updated with those details.
What this policy covers
This policy covers personal information collected when you:
- visit the Uranus website;
- join the waitlist;
- contact us by email;
- register professional, partnership, or investor interest;
- receive launch updates or educational communications from us.
This policy does not yet cover the full in-app product experience. Before the app launches, we will publish fuller app privacy terms covering account creation, health-related inputs, app analytics, retention, security, and user rights.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use the website, we may collect:
- Waitlist details: first name, email address, user type, and any optional message you submit.
- Professional interest details: whether you identify as a healthcare professional, partner, investor, pharmacist, educator, or another contact type.
- Contact details: information included if you email us, such as your name, email address, organisation, and message content.
- Technical information: basic information about your visit, such as IP address, browser type, device type, approximate location, referring page, pages viewed, and time of visit, where this is collected by hosting, form, analytics, or security providers.
- Consent and communication records: whether you joined the waitlist, opted in to updates, unsubscribed, or asked us to change how we contact you.
Health information and sensitive topics
Haemorrhoids are a health topic. The website waitlist is designed to avoid collecting detailed health information. The optional “What would you most like help with?” field should not be used to send urgent, highly detailed, or sensitive medical information.
If you choose to include health-related details in a form or email, we will treat that information carefully and only use it for the limited purpose of understanding your request, improving pre-launch planning, or responding to you. We do not use website waitlist information to diagnose, treat, or provide individual medical advice.
How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- manage the Uranus waitlist;
- send launch updates, early access news, and useful education;
- understand whether interest is from users, healthcare professionals, partners, or others;
- respond to messages and professional enquiries;
- improve the website, content, product positioning, and launch planning;
- protect the website from spam, misuse, security issues, and fraud;
- comply with legal, regulatory, accounting, or administrative obligations.
Our lawful basis
Where UK GDPR or similar data protection laws apply, we rely on one or more of the following lawful bases:
- Consent: when you choose to join the waitlist or receive launch updates.
- Legitimate interests: to operate the website, understand launch interest, improve the service, respond to enquiries, and protect against misuse, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Contract or steps before a contract: if you ask about professional involvement, partnership, access, or services.
- Legal obligation: where we must keep records or respond to lawful requests.
If the future app processes health-related information, we will identify and explain the relevant special category condition before launch.
Marketing and waitlist emails
If you join the waitlist, we may email you about Uranus, app launch news, early access, educational content, and related product updates. We aim to keep these messages useful, discreet, and low-pressure.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe option included in email communications, or by contacting hello@uranus.app.
Cookies and analytics
The current website is designed to be static and lightweight. If analytics, advertising pixels, cookie banners, or similar tools are added later, this policy should be updated to explain what is used, why it is used, and how users can control it.
Hosting and security providers may still process basic technical information needed to deliver the website and protect it from misuse.
Netlify Forms and service providers
The waitlist form is prepared for Netlify Forms. We may also use trusted service providers for hosting, email delivery, CRM, form handling, analytics, security, and business operations.
Service providers should only process personal information on our instructions and for the purposes described in this policy. If we later connect a CRM such as Supabase, ConvertKit, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Airtable, GoHighLevel, or a custom backend, this policy should be updated to reflect that provider.
Sharing your information
We do not sell personal information. We may share information with:
- service providers who help operate the website, forms, email, CRM, or security;
- professional advisers, such as legal, accounting, or compliance advisers;
- public authorities, regulators, or law enforcement where required by law;
- a buyer, investor, or successor if the project or business is reorganised, acquired, or transferred, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal safeguards.
International transfers
Some providers may process information outside the UK or European Economic Area. Where required, we will use appropriate safeguards, such as adequacy regulations, standard contractual clauses, or equivalent legal protections.
How long we keep information
We keep waitlist and enquiry information for as long as needed to manage launch communications, product development, and professional interest, unless you ask us to delete it or we need to keep it for legal, security, or administrative reasons.
As a practical rule, we should review waitlist records periodically and remove information that is no longer useful or lawful to keep.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. No website, email system, or internet transmission is completely secure, so please avoid sending urgent, highly sensitive, or detailed medical information through website forms or ordinary email.
Your rights
Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- delete your information;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- request a portable copy of certain information;
- complain to a data protection regulator.
To make a privacy request, contact hello@uranus.app. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
Children
Uranus is not currently intended for children or for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the waitlist.
Medical privacy reminder
The Uranus website and waitlist are not medical care channels. If you have severe, persistent, worsening, or worrying symptoms, or if you need urgent medical support, contact a qualified healthcare professional or emergency service as appropriate.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the website, waitlist, product, service providers, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date.
